Speaking Events

Jeffrey Lazarus, MD, FAAP is an internationally recognized speaker on the use of medical hypnosis to address pediatric conditions like bedwetting, irritable bowel syndrome, headaches, chronic pain, tics and Tourette syndrome, and anxiety. He also treats adults for a variety of conditions.

Dr. Lazarus speaks at physician and psychology conferences, hospitals, and to various special interest groups including athletic coaches, teachers, parent organizations, PTAs, musicians, actors, and parents of children with academic struggles.

He has taught workshops for other hypnosis professionals nationally for the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis, the Society for Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis, the National Pediatric Hypnosis Training Institute, and internationally for the International Society of Hypnosis and the European Society of Hypnosis.

October, 2013.  “Treatment of Tics and Habit Disorders with Training in Self-Hypnosis?” and “Techniques to Maximize Treatment Adherence and Outcome.” This is the 7th Congress on hypnotherapeutic and systemic approaches in working with children and adolescents. Attending will be 1800 clinicians from around the world including over 110 faculty members from 11 countries. The leading and most renowned hypnotherapists, systemic therapists and family therapists, will present their approaches in working clinically with hypnosis with children and adolescents. August, 2013.  Dr. Lazarus will serve as a guest lecturer and teaching assistant for David Burns, MD, when Dr. Burns teaches “Advanced Applications in Cognitive Therapy:  A Four-Day Intensive Training.”  Dr. Burns is an adjunct professor emeritus in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Stanford University School of Medicine and the author of several best-selling books, including Feeling Good:  The New Mood Therapy and When Panic Attacks.  Dr. Burns is internationally recognized as an inspiring teacher, original thinker, and leader in the field of cognitive behavioral therapy.  San Francisco, California.

Locally, Jeffrey Lazarus, MD has spoken at Stanford University Medical Center and the UCSF Osher Center for Integrative Studies, as part of the Pritzker Lecture Series on Integrative Pediatric and Adolescent Health. In March 2010, he spoke at the Nike Coach of the Year conference in Concord, California on the topic of Sports Performance Anxiety.
